Hispanic studies courses

The subjects in the Hispanic Studies Courses last for a total of 40 hours and are taught according to a regular weekly timetable, in accordance with the general course structuring established by the University (4 hours per subject per week in the first block, and 3 hours per subject per week in the second).

The Hispanic Studies Course is aimed at university students and professionals who are interested in gaining a deeper knowledge and understanding of Spanish language and culture. A wide range of subjects are offered, taught by specialists from the University of Granada. Students are required to have a sufficient prior level of Spanish to enable them to study these subjects (command of the knowledge and skills corresponding to level Advanced-6 at University) and, in any case, students are always recommended to take an Intensive Spanish Language Course before starting this course.

The course is offered in 3 blocks:

• From October to December (autumn)
• From February to May (spring).
• Full year (autumn and spring). The full course (10 subjects) grants the right to be awarded a Diploma in Hispanic Studies.

Students taking this course are required to pick a minimum of 4 or 5 subjects. Those who wish to can study three or four subjects in either of the two blocks offered and complete these by choosing one of the foreign language modules (English, French, Italian, German, Arabic, Chinese, Modern Greek, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian or Swedish) offered by the University.

Students who are registered for both blocks of the Hispanic Studies Course (Autumn and Spring) will be able to choose up to a maximum of 10 subjects and a minimum of 8. Students who do not pass the initial entrance test for admission to the Hispanic Studies Course will be able to apply to other courses as a reserve choice.
